Inspired by a recent trip to France, this large scale painting is my modern interpretation of a flower garden. Impressionist in style, this colourful work of art dances between figurative and abstract styles. Titled ‘Let the Light In’ for its open composition and hopeful nature.

Vibrant coloured blooms emerge from the shadows yearning to embrace the glow of sunlight above. Layers of thickly sculpted paint and expressive impasto mark making bring a sense of energy and movement to the composition.
